Welcome

Eric Evans (1955-1991) was educated at Tiffin School and St. Catharine's College Cambridge where he studied modern languages. He was awarded a blue at football. He went on to work at E D and F Man, the commodities group, where he led a varied and successful career in the sugar division.

Eric was a high achiever and passionate about sport, as well as being a loving husband to his wife Olwen and devoted father to his daughters Amelia and Alice and a loyal friend to many. Sadly he died in 1991.

The Trust was set up by his friends and family in his memory with a view to promoting sport and activities for all, in particular the underprivileged.

2014/2015 Grass Roots Challenge

This year we are developing proposals to put in front of the three main political parties for inclusion in their election manifestos. Our aim is to increase participation in sport at the grassroots level, targeting our campaign on those who do not normally have ready access to sporting facilities, including coaching. We will be working with underprivileged children, schools, and sporting organisations that provide coaches.

Our aim is to increase sporting opportunities for a wide range of children and adults, help to improve mental and physical health as well as encouraging people to engage in their local community.
